CONTEST TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

$500 Emissions Data Technology Survey Contest Draw hereinafter referred to as the Contest is being conducted by the Daily Oil Bulletin, a geoLOGIC company (DOB or we or us) on behalf of geoLOGIC systems ltd. (geoLOGIC). Unless you provide explicit permission to us, the information you provide will only be used for the administration of this Contest and in accordance with the DOB privacy policy (see below).

1. ELIGIBILITY: To enter and be eligible to win, a person must be a legal resident of Canada working for a company operating in, or providing service or supply to, the oil and gas industry in North America and has reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of entry. Employees, representatives or agents (and those with whom such persons are domiciled) of DOB, their affiliated companies, and their respective advertising or promotional agencies are not eligible to enter.

2. CONTEST PERIOD: Entry into the Contest commences at 7:00 a.m. MT on November 21, 2022, and closes at 11:59 p.m. MT on December 2, 2022, hereinafter referred to as the Entry Period.

3. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter the Contest, you must complete the Emissions Data Technology Survey (the Survey) at the designated online location (the Contest Site).  You may only complete the Survey once.  Any duplicate or mechanically produced or copied entries will not be accepted.  DOB is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete or misdirected entries.

4. PRIZES: Entrants will have a chance to win a $500 Visa Gift Card (the Prize), subject to the terms and conditions set out in sections 5 and 6.

5. WINNER SELECTION: One (1) potential winner will be randomly selected after the Entry Period, and no later than January 31, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta. The potential winner will be contacted via email or phone and will be provided a winners Declaration and Release form (the Declaration) which includes a mathematical skill-testing question and a declaration confirming compliance with the Rules, acceptance of the Prize as awarded, without substitution, and releasing DOB, their affiliated and related companies, advertising and promotional agencies, and their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the "Releasees") from any liability in connection with the Prize or this Contest. In order to be awarded the Prize, the potential winner must correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question without electronic, mechanical or any other kind of assistance. and must also complete and sign the Declaration. The potential winner will have 10 business days from receipt of the Declaration to return their completed and signed Declaration form to DOB. If a potential winner fails to return a signed Declaration by this deadline or fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question, that potential winner will be disqualified from the draw and an alternate potential winner will be randomly selected.

6. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS: Each entrant is only eligible to win the one (1) Prize. Changes and extensions to any expiry date are not permitted. The prize winner will be bound by any additional terms laid out by VISA. Other restrictions may apply.

7. GENERAL CONDITIONS: DOB reserves the right in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, or to be using automated methods to attempt to receive additional entries into the Contest, or to be acting in violation of these Rules or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person or to be acting in an otherwise disruptive manner. All decisions of DOB are final and binding. The Releasees i) make no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind concerning the Prize, ii) except where prohibited by law, disclaim any implied warranty, and iii) are not liable for injury, loss, or damage of any kind resulting from the acceptance or use or misuse of a Prize, travel related thereto or from, or entrants participation in the Contest. The Contest will run in accordance with these Rules, subject to amendment by DOB. All entries become the property of DOB. In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an entry, entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. Authorized account holder is defined as the person who is assigned an email address by an internet provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institute, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. An entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected entry. DOB is not responsible for lost, late, stolen, incomplete, altered, or misdirected entries, for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to electronic malfunctioning of any network, hardware, or software, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by DOB whether or not due to the fault of the foregoing or of any other person, or whether due to computer mishaps, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrants or any other persons computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the Contest. Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of receipt. Any attempt to deliberately damage the Contest Site or to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, DOB reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. DOB is not responsible for injury or damage to online participants or any other persons computer related to or resulting from participation in the Contest or downloading materials from, or use of, Contest Site. If, for any reason whatsoever, any part of the Contest is not capable of running as planned by reason of infection by computer virus, worms, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or other causes which in the sole opinion of DOB, could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, DOB reserves the right, at its sole discretion (subject to the approval of the Rgie in Quebec) to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and to select a winner from eligible entries received prior to the action taken or in some other manner that DOB deems fair and equitable. DOB is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of the Contest, including but not limited to, errors in advertising, the Rules, the selection and announcement of winner, or the distribution of the Prize. DOB will use your personal information for the purposes of conducting the Contest in accordance with DOB and geoLOGICs Privacy Policy, available for view at 1500, 401 9th Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta T2P 3C5 or online at https://www.geologic.com/privacy-policy/, and applicable law. DOB may also use or disclose your personal information for those other purposes for which you have provided your consent. DOB reserves the right to use your name and photograph for promotional purposes. For Quebec residents: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Rgie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of the Prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: All intellectual property, including, without limitation, all trademarks, trade names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source code, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations (collectively the Intellectual Property) are registered and unregistered trademarks and copyrighted by DOB, its affiliates, and others. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or Intellectual Property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
